People around the world were intermittently unable to use WhatsApp for about one-and-a-half hours.
The messaging app went down on Friday, Nov. 3 due to a unspecified problem with the service that started around 3.45pm (Singapore time).
The app put up a notice under the "Help" section saying: "Our service is experiencing a problem right now. We are working on it and hope to restore the functionality shortly."
DownDetector.com showed a massive spike on Friday at about 4.30pm with reports of problems with WhatsApp:

However, service has been restored at about 5.15pm (Singapore time), although there are still some reports of the service being inaccessible.
