It will be developed into a community park 10 times its current size.

The National Parks Board has unveiled plans to turn the 0.1 hectare space, located about 100m off Gambas Avenue, into a 1.1 hectare park.

Hot spring

The hot spring water is heated underground at more than 100°C.

Its source is currently unknown. Its origin is believed to be northwest of its actual location, possibly at Bukit Timah.

The high pressure underground causes the water to seep upwards through cracks, forcing itself out of the ground and onto the surface.

The temperature of the spring water is measured to be a constant 70°C.

It is hot enough to cook eggs.
