Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

Potterheads should be in a suitable frenzy over this piece of news: Niantic Inc., the company behind Pokemon Go, has confirmed the future release of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, a augmented reality mobile game that will allow players to step foot into the wizarding world.

This was announced on Niantic's blogon Nov. 8.

Niantic has partnered with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and their new label Portkey Games.

How to play

The game mechanics should work the same way as Pokemon Go, where players can impose the Potter universe on reality through their smartphones and explore their neighbourhood to find and fight magical creatures.

However, Wizards Unite sounds more promising as you'll also be able to learn and cast spells, discover mysterious artefacts, and even bump into iconic wizarding world characters (imagine bumping into Voldemort at night).

You can also team up with other players to take down more difficult enemies.

The exact launch date has yet to be announced, and more details will be released in 2018.

You can follow their Facebook and website to keep yourself updated.
