The Singtel DATA X INFINITY add-on was launched two weeks ago and at long last, Singapore finally has its first-ever mobile plan providing the option of unlimited data, talktime and SMS.

This comes at an additional $39.90 to Singtel’s new Combo mobile plans (only Combo 3 and above).

Good value? It depends on your usage of data. Data addicts who frequently bust the data cap would embrace this with open arms.

And this doesn’t include the large discounts on handsets you get with the Combo plans. Imagine paying $1000 less for the latest flagship phone.

But sorry for digressing because that’s not the point of this article.

So what’s the point?

The point is: The best way to maximize this is to share the plan with a few people.

Get the MobileShare add-on, which allows one user to share the unlimited data plan (WHUT?!) with a maximum of three mobile lines for $10.70 per line.

Time to bring out your abacus guys. Let’s take a typical 4-people household for example.

Dad who uses the Internet to check TOTO results; Mum who uses Whatsapp to spread fake news; Son who streams movies on his Bigo Live account for more beans; Daughter who is a wannabe Youtuber and seeks inspiration from other Youtubers while on her way to school.

So if they take the Combo 3 + DATA X INFINITY add-on, it will cost them $108.80.

Adding on 3 X Mobileshare add-ons, the total bill will hit $140.90.

Split the sum four ways and you get $35.26 per person.

This makes perfect sense and makes things look very, very affordable. I can’t remember the last time I paid $35.26 for my phone bill.

The whole it’s-the-only-mobile-plan-in-Singapore-that-gives-you-UNLIMITED-DATA,-TALK TIME-SMS (ok nobody uses SMS anymore, just capping this for dramatic effect) narrative sounds Uber-appealing now.

Say goodbye to the dreaded SMS telling you that you’ve busted your data for the month while streaming a video halfway. Say goodbye to the fights at home with your teenager who cannot control his data usage. It is now UNLIMITED.

Oh, and one more thing. The Combo 6 and 12 plan now come with a free data roaming plan every month.

The world is now a beautiful place. Don’t say we never SHARE (geddit?).
