An event for players (the nerdy kind), GameStart 2017 will offer visitors the chance to cosplay and try the latest games, including the new augmented reality game HADO, which is making its Southeast Asian debut.

This year's event will also include a new cyberpunk-themed dining area, and a tabletop area for board, card and dungeon games.

Free entry to the National Museum of Singapore

October 13 - 15, 10am to 10pm

If you've never been invited for a birthday party in your life, this one's for you.

The National Museum of Singapore is turning 130, and is celebrating it with free entry, interactive tours, live music performances, art installations, and an “artisanal retro market” (perfect for all you printed-shirt wearing, manbun-sporting hipsters lurking out there).

There will also be a birthday cake-cutting ceremony on October 14 (for the museum. Not you, Margaret), and a birthday cupcake giveaway by Cedele on both days.

So you can forget, for a moment, all those times you ever had to spend a birthday alone... via GIPHY
