Here's why Singaporeans die die will still buy the nearly $2k iPhone X

It's Xpensive, but it's ok.

So Apple just announced the release of the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X.

People are asking where's the iPhone 9? Well, the answer to that is 7 8 9 (7 ate 9).

Sorry, I digress.

The real question is: will Singaporeans really buy the most expensive phone Apple has ever released?

Yes, they will.

1. Singaporeans are kiasu

You are not Singaporean if you have never joined a long queue for something in trend.

Remember when the Louis Vuitton X Supreme collection was launched in Singapore?

Here's a reminder:

Even online, Singaporeans show just how kan cheong they are.

A good example would be Coldplay's Head Full of Dreams concert that sold out in 90 minutes.

And I'm still salty that I wasn't kiasu enough to get those tickets.

2. It's pretty affordable

Don't get me wrong, $1648-$1,888 is not a small amount.

But thanks to installment plans from line providers like Singtel and Circles.Life, you don't have to fork out a lump sum.

Under Circles.Life, you will only have to spend a minimum of $68.67 per month over a period of two years.

24 months is pretty long but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

Besides, the preorder starts in late October, so you still have some time to save up.

3. We are slaves to Apple

Well, not literally.

Look at this image:

Compare it to the top two Twitter-using countries, the US:

That could probably be attributed to the efficiency of the iCloud.

Being lazy Singaporeans, it's easier to upgrade to the latest iPhone instead of moving over to the dark side Android since all your Instagram-worthy photos and downloaded music will be synced to the cloud.

So if you're still considering whether to get the iPhone X, here's my advice to you:
