Beerfest Asia 2017 at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore

August 18 - 20

This is an event for people looking for liquid courage to do stupid things.

Besides having lots of beer, there will be workshops, including one on homebrewing.

Yup, you can lie to yourself that you're there to do intelligent things, instead of just drinking till you do stupid things.

one-north Festival 2017 at BIOPOLIS @ one-north

August 18 & 19, 11am to 6pm

This event is for people who believe that living in the 21st century is so passé. You will get to experience the future, with robots, 3D printers and virtual reality.

You can also get your selfie printed on your coffee at the Future Food Street.

Why? Because simply taking selfies just isn't narcissistic enough.

Aliwal Arts Night Crawl 2017 at Kampong Glam

August 19, 5pm to 11pm

This is an arts festival featuring the good kind of wayang.

Visitors can experience the Southeast Asian tradition of wayang kulit (shadow puppetry) at Kampong Glam, where it was historically performed.

Look out for The Fantastic Mythluminator, a roving shadow performance that will weave a scene from Lord of the Rings in with the epic Ramanaya.

We imagine it'll be almost impossible to stop yourself from doing this when they try to walk past you.

Like a black box where you will experience what it's like being visually impaired, and be guided through a series of challenges by a Dialogue in the Dark Singapore to escape.

National Day Rally

August 20, 6.45pm

On Sunday evening, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will deliver our most important political yearly address, like the US President's State of the Union address.

Last year was exciting for all the wrong reasons. Don't think it will be as exciting this year.

Watch the highlights from Mothership on Monday instead?
