A picture of People's Park Complex has been gaining traction on Reddit Pictures, one of the top subreddits on the site.

Opened in 1973, People's Park Complex is a high-rise residential and commercial building in Chinatown. It is designed in the Brutalist architectural style, and features striking vertical lines running down the sides as well as the circular portholes at the top.

Having been a key feature of the Chinatown area for decades, and a very familiar one to Singaporeans, some of us might not even take a second glance at the old building today.

But it's a completely different story online.

Yup, the building is garnering all types of debate from non-Singaporeans.

A few appreciated the picture.

Some considered it to be an oriental Mad Max.

While others saw similarities between another fellow high population density country.

And some felt incredibly sorry for us.

While others tried to provide a bit of context for the picture.

Perspective.
