Chinese New Year is a time where families gather to feast and look at their phones.
And then there is the need to take photos together as one tight familial unit.
Instead of wearing the same well-worn smile and putting out the peace sign, why not take things up a notch and get creative?
Originally posted by Japanese illustrator Yuuki Tokuda on Twitter back in 2014, several of those creative poses have been shared widely after being posted on Facebook.
Here these poses in their full glory with translation:
Poses for 2:
”Get out of the way, we're going to fire the laser cannon!"
"Found you!"
"You won't be able to escape now."
Poses for 3:
"Clap clap clap."
"Isn't it obvious - we're bffs!"
Poses for 4:
"When we do this, the fact that we're alive really sinks in."
"That's true."
You might need to recruit additional help to get that one person (preferably lightweight) on the strong, stable heads of two others.
If it's too hard, however, this pose is much more friendly:
Take this, X beam!!
Poses for 5:
If you have cousins who are into K-pop, the following pose would probably make them feel like one of those bands:
"Look! This is friendship!"
Pose for 6:
The Kallang side-wave, as we'll like to call it.
We're going to bite?
These poses may cheese off your relatives, but hey, make them an offer they can't refuse.
"If you join us, we can form a star. Come over quickly!"
