S'porean group dances to ShiGGa Shay's "Tapau", makes lim kopi & kaya toast 100x cooler

The original video was only better because of the auntie.

Once in awhile, amid our obsession with success in science, tech, the economy, etc, we get reminded of some great talent in the arts.

Like this video of a group of five Singaporean dancers in a choreographed routine to Tapau, a song by local rapper ShiGGa Shay:

Now, typically dancers choreograph routines to a wide range of pretty much any Western song; more popular hits attract more streams of video recordings of these routines.

But here's a take on a local song that works like kaya and cold butter on toast, and we're loving it:

Like this perfectly-timed play out of all the drinks and food mentioned in the chorus of the song (watch from 0:55 of the clip above)

We also want to be able to do roundhouse kicks like this:

It also caught the attention (and endorsement) of Shigga Shay himself:

We think this is almost as good as the original music video from Shigga Shay, which you can watch here in case you couldn't catch any of the lyrics:

It falls short chiefly, and we'd say only, because of this badass auntie:

Support local, guys. We're pretty darn awesome.
