Pokemon Go, which just became available in Singapore as of today (Aug. 6) morning, is now number one on the Apple App store in Singapore, beating the likes of Uber (3rd), Grab (6th), Whatsapp (8th), Google Maps (9th) and YouTube (10th).
Besides Singapore, the augmented-reality game had also quietly launched in several Asian countries today, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan.
Minister of State for Manpower Teo Ser Luck appeared to be one of the "early adopters" who made Pokemon Go the top downloaded app today.
He shared a photo of a Charmander at a hawker centre, while queuing up for his bak chor mee:
