Channel News Asia confirms that Joanne Peh is just another S'porean

And that Qi Yu Wu is her husband.

In a story that goes nowhere, Channel News Asia spoke to Joanne Peh about time, fate and family on Wednesday (Oct. 15) and only published the story two days later.

We wonder why.

Nevertheless, the interview provided startling insight that Joanne Peh is indeed a true blue Singaporean. Here are some of her very Singaporean concerns:

1. Time

“As I grow older, I realise time flies. Back in the day, I could have coffee with a friend and we could talk a lot and it’s, like, ‘What? It’s just half an hour gone?’ Now you just have a conversation and ‘Oh, it’s been two hours’,” said Peh.

“I don’t know what happened to time. Is it age? I just feel time is passing really quickly now and I need to make the most out of it for myself and for my family.”

Joanne Peh, like all Singaporeans, cannot stop time.

2. Career

“I thought about what I want to do for the next half of the year, what I want for my career, what I want for my personal life … And one of the things was really to reach out to more people, to make new friends."

Joanne Peh, like most Singaporeans, prefers to map her career out.

3. Fate

“I’ve always wanted to start a family. That has always been on the cards. As you can probably tell, I am one of those people who really believe in fate," she said. “If fate brings me there, it brings me there. It’s something that you can’t really plan, like, ‘I want this to happen at this particular time’.”

Joanne Peh, like most Singaporeans, is not in control of her fate and that fate is probably written all over her face.

4. Thinking

“I was away in Kuala Lumpur for three and a half months. Being by yourself, being away from home is a first for me. I couldn’t go home. I missed my mum, my dad, even my brother. So I did a lot of thinking,” said Peh.

Joanne Peh, like many Singaporeans, prefers thinking when she is overseas.

5. Volunteering

“Volunteer work was always something I wanted to do, but - I hate using this phrase - I just couldn't find the time. I’ve become tired of saying this so I tell myself I’m going to take charge of my own time now. I’m going to make time,” said the actress, who will co-host this year’s PSC charity show with television veteran Gurmit Singh.

Joanne Peh, like some Singaporeans, would love to volunteer if she can find the time.

The reaction from this story also confirmed a few things:
