People who do not know Singaporeans think that we are boring or emotionless.
In fact, there is an urban legend circulating among foreigners that our version of a creative romantic proposal is "shall we by a HDB flat?".
Yes, we are no Shakespeare, Dickens or Eliot.
But who says we don't know how to be creative with our languages?
