If you need a place for a first date, make it the newly opened Trick Eye Museum

Because movies for a first date is a doomed to fail idea

Renowned South Korean gallery, the Trick Eye Museum, has landed in Singapore. It will be open to the public this Sunday, 8 June, at Resorts World Sentosa. This is the first branch of the museum outside of South Korea.

If we have to describe the museum in words, it would probably be "a place for you to take photographs of your date becoming a part of optical illusions".

Don't get it? Neither did I when I got the press release for the event. The best way to describe the Trick Eye Museum is through some photographs, so here you go:

The Trick Eye Museum is pretty cool but you will have to stand at the perfect spot and position your camera at the right height for your photographs to turn out like seamless optical illusions. Here are a few examples of how the height and position of the camera would ruin the illusion:

The two examples above don't look as convincing because you can see where the wall meets the floor, so if you're a little on the tall side, you may want to stoop down.

The lava did not look convincing here because the photograph was taken off-centre. Again the camera was placed too high and you can see where the wall meets the floor.

Nevertheless, the Trick Eye Museum would be a perfect place for a date because there's a fun activity for you and your date to engage in and it gives you the chance to lean in close to the guy/girl while you check how the photos look on the camera's LCD screen. So devious, no?

And my personal favourite and probably the most epic exhibit of the lot goes to:

Opening hours and ticketing information of the Trick Eye Museum can be found here. Better make your plans soon, as part of the Grand Opening promotions, ticket prices are going at 50% off.
