Good job.

A golden retriever has stopped its owner from going to Wuhan with the most effective means possible: Eating her passport.

On Jan. 13, Kimi's owner posted the sorry sight to Facebook.

Her caption reads,

"Saw this scene the moment I returned to my room!

Who can explain on my behalf, can I even leave the country now ???

#SomeoneTakeThisDogAway"

Here are the photos from the post, with the passport thoroughly chewed:

On Jan. 14, however, Kimi's owner shared a news report of the incident with an entirely different perspective.

"Do you guys still remember the passport incident?

In hindsight, this little one was really protecting me.

After my passport was destroyed, the virus started proliferating at my intended destination.

I feel rather touched now.

It's a good thing you prevented me from going on the trip,

Allowing the family to spend the new year together ❤️"

The owner's caption implies that the passport-eating incident occurred before the epidemic took a more serious turn.

According to 9GAG, the family intended to travel to Wuhan in late January, and Kimi's owner wanted to book the flight tickets after work on Jan. 13.

A lockdown was imposed on Wuhan on Jan. 23.

In another post on Jan. 26, the owner thanks Kimi once more:

And if you are wondering about the logistics:

"A Taiwanese passport allows you to travel to Wuhan?"

"You'll need the passport for departing Taiwan, but they'll only look at MTPs (Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents) when you reach the Mainland."

There are currently more than 4,000 reported infected cases and 106 reported deaths in China.
