If you are a hardcore Lego fan, you'd have noticed that Lego Singapore held a #BuildAmazingSG contest last month.

Participants had to build, photograph, and share their Singapore-themed Lego creations on Instagram with the contest hashtag.

Some of the contest entries are nothing short of amazing, intricate, and nostalgic. You can actually see their resemblance to real-life Singaporean places.

Take a look at these:

Hawker centre

The food court a.k.a. the hawker centre has been part and parcel of everyday Singapore life for me. An all-in-one gastronomic experience that serves up varieties from the ubiquitous chicken rice to sizzling steaks, fishball noodles and caters to the palate of all Singapore food lovers whether as an individual or as a group. Seafood lover? Chilli crab and Sambal Stingray may tickle your fancy. Traditional food lover? Popiah, Satay and Prata are always ready. A quick lunch? Economic Bee Hoon/Nasi Lemak and a plethora of side dishes caters to your wishes. Fancy a cuppa? Freshly pressed fruit juice, barley, freshly brewed coffee and even traditional desserts like Tao Suan and Cheng Tng can be found, no kidding. Not a week goes by without a routine visit to the food court! It's especially a favourite choice when I can't figure out what to eat! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper too. #BuildAmazingSG #LEGOSG #lego #legophotography #legostagram #afol #legominifigures #minifigures #legomania #minifig #legogram #legophoto #legoaddict #minifigure #legoland #singapore #foodcourt #hawkercentre

MacRitchie Reservoir

View this post on Instagram

Holiday project with my girls - The MacRitchie Reservoir, Singapore's oldest reservoir. This was the place that my parents bring me every holiday when I was a boy. I guess it could be that it was cheap (no tickets required) and accessible since I used to stay at Ang Mo Kio. Nevertheless, we had memorable experiences at MacRitchie. We would stroll along the water bodies and bring bread crumbs to feed the fishes and tortoises from the zigzag bridge and pavilion. Then, my mum would bring out her spread of food and drinks and we would enjoy the picnic on the open grass field. One of the most unforgettable incident was that I witnessed a foreigner teasing a monkey. He kept giving the monkey empty peanut shells until it got so angry that it tried to bit him. I guess my love for nature was rooted in this way from young. I would hope to pass on this experience and the love of nature to my girls. Their generation is over exposed to technology and gadgets, private car and air-conditioned environment. What they need is to return to my young days of sun, sweat and simplicity! #buildamazingsg #legosg #macritchie #macritchiereservoir #exploresingapore #discoversingapore #iluvsg #lego #legobuild #legofigures #wyldstyle #legoemmet
