Violins, guitars and the power of Japanese rock.

Japanese rock band Luna Sea began in 1986.

The band enjoys a strong following internationally, including Singapore.

Now, the band's guitarists, Sugizo and Inoran are coming to our sunny island again -- the first time was in 2013 -- to perform on June 24. for the Asian leg of their SUGIZO VS INORAN BEST BOUT2017~L2/5~ tour.

The showpromises to be a full-on rock spectacle, despite being a little different from their band Luna Sea itself.

Both guitarists are said to have complementing styles, with Sugizo's fast and sleek style complementing Inoran's crisp and chill sound. It's probably not going to be just full-on guitar thrashing, though -- other than hearing them sing, audiences could probably expect an epic violin versus guitar duel.

Star-studded careers

You may not have heard of either of them before, but their work in and out of music makes them rather respectable figures.

Beyond music, both of them have devoted time and energy to giving back to society.

Sugizo devotes his time to humanitarian work, having visited Syrian refugees, championing anti-war and anti-nuclear activism, along with being highly involved in environmental causes.

Inoran also co-created a song that raised money for victims of the Haiti earthquake in 2010, and the song was subsequently released for download again to raise money for the victims of the Tohoku earthquake in 2011.

Tickets for the Singapore show start from S$98. The S$188 VIP ticket comes with priority entrance and an exclusive meet-and-greet session, along with a souvenir.
