A viral video on the Internet capturing an accident on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) is the stuff of nightmares, especially for motorcyclists.

46-year old lift technical manager Shaiful Amjad was riding his motorbike on PIE on Wednesday evening (May 24), when he was knocked down by two cars.

The following video tells it all. Viewer discretion is advised.

It shows a black SUV inching towards the left of the motorcycle Shaiful was riding, before he could react, the SUV knocked into him, causing him to fall off his bike.

If that wasn't enough, an oncoming white car seemingly ran over and dragged him for a distance of 200 metres, before finally stopping.

Those were truly heart-stopping scenes in the video. Despite the dreadful coincidence, Shaiful miraculously survived.

His helmet, along with the fact that the white car did not run him over with its wheels allowed him to escape certain death. According to The Straits Times,  he suffered fractures, broken bones and internal bleeding,

Shin Min Daily News reported that the father of three is currently in stable condition after two operations. Doctors believe he will be able to make a full recovery.

Shaiful has also been given two months salary in advance by his boss to help him tide over this difficult period.

Let's hope he'll have a speedy recovery - one thing's for sure, he's really lucky to be alive.
