Female passenger tells off Grab driver when he asked her out. Creepy or misunderstood?

Benefit of the doubt, anyone? Probably not.

Real-life scenario: The following conversation is between someone who is most likely a GrabHitch driver and a female passenger he was going to pick up:

The adage has always been: The biggest failing of technology is humans.

And it appears the weakest link in language communication, going by the above conversation, is also humans.

Comments in reaction to this conversation suggest this might have been a misunderstanding: The driver might have assumed the passenger was asking him out for coffee and "stuffs" when she replied with this statement:

I prefer to rch a little earlier for coffee and stuffs if u dun mind

But that would obviously also be quite an assumption to make.

And the male driver might have this impression because these days, the carpooling function in a ride-sharing app has also become a spontaneous dating device: Grab fused with Tinder is now a thing.

Not to mention there are heightened expectations when the optics of ride-sharing is now like this:

To be fair, it is not new that a driver and passenger hooked up after getting to know each other via sharing a ride.
