American kids try S'porean & M'sian junk food, kind of okay with it

Kids try the darndest things.

A group of American kids, who have no idea where Singapore is on the map, were given some of our snacks to try.

Verdict? They were okay with the cheesy, sweet and monosodium glutamate-laden stuff, naturally, but not so much the pungent and funkier fish snacks.

The types of snacks they tried included Cheezels, fish crackers from Cold Storage, mango gummy candy

and, the perennial favourite of anyone who has had a childhood, Twisties.

Keeping in line with the "Kids Say The Darndest Things" concept, one kid's reaction to eating Cheezels was:

"This one is.. actually represents chaos"

In response to the video, comments suggested that the kids should have been given more local and traditional snacks that would take more of getting used to and would have elicited stronger reactions.

These include:

One reason the snacks are labelled as from Singapore and Malaysia is most probably because cross-border junk food between these two neighbouring countries are not that different.

This is due to a lot of such snacks being manufactured in Malaysia and then transported to Singapore.
