On March 18, a woman ran into the Sengkang Neighbourhood Police Centre holding the boy's body and laid him on the counter in front of Senior Staff Sergeant Mohamad Azhar Abdul Aziz.

The boy was believed to have suffered a fit.

He said: "I was in shock. I knew I had to act fast or the boy would die. He was not breathing and did not have any pulse."

Another policeman, Sergeant Mohamad Adam Roslan, called an ambulance as his colleague performed chest compressions on the boy.

Senior Staff Sgt Azhar noticed that the boy had started to regain consciousness when he was about to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation

Another officer, Staff Sgt Joshua Kwek, rushed to the polyclinic next door and found a doctor who was working past clinic hours.

The boy was taken to hospital in an ambulance and has since recovered.
