'Security incident' at Hougang MRT station, commuters cannot enter premises

Police have checked the unattended bag and nothing suspicious found.

 

A "security incident" has reportedly occurred at Hougang MRT station. Members of the public have been advised to avoid the area.

Commuters have been barred from the station along the North East MRT Line, which looked to have been evacuated.

A video posted on Today Twitter showed the train not stopping at the station.

SBS Transit said in a tweet that connecting buses between Serangoon and Buangkok stations are available for free but did not give details about the nature of the incident.
