Leaflet advising Yishun women get naked for breast cancer checks is fake: S'pore Cancer Society

Phew, thank goodness it's not health checks for testicular cancer.

A flyer allegedly distributed in Yishun asking women to pay money and get naked to have their breasts screened for cancer, has been dismissed as fake.

According to The Straits Times, the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) has lodged a police report over the flyer.

An image of the flyer first appeared on April 12 on All Singapore Stuff, an occasional fake news purveyor.

The flyer with a visible SCS logo on it, stated that women in Yishun undergoing check-ups would have to be naked and that check-up fees ranged from $50 to $100.

These checks are carried out at various locations in the Yishun estate on three different days as women are at risk of breast cancer.

The hilarity of the flyer is compounded as it is not only riddled with grammatical errors, but it is stated that the cost of the check-up varies according to the state of breasts.

This is what the flyer said:

Hello to all the Yishun Residents, our team will be conducting health checks in your neighbour. We will be checking on women only. Reason being is women tend to have higher risk of breast cancer.

So when we check on women, on that particular day, our team will randomly visit each unit. All women are compulsory to be bra-less so when we check them, we will caress them to see any lump.

We will be visiting on 3 days:

15/04/2014: Yishun St 71 Blk 717 - 730

22/04/2014: Yishun Ring Road Blk 342A - 343A

29/04/2017: Yishun St 44 Blk 478A - 479C

Note: While our team will be checking on women, they have to be fully naked for the health check.

Our fees depend on the types of women. If the breast is lumpy, the fees will be higher.

Fees: $50-$100

Glad to know this is fake news.
