All Singapore Stuff, a website that has little qualms peddling fake news, recently published a letter by a concerned Singaporean parent regarding the rise of secondary school kids flashing gang signs.

According to the article, the parent "expressed concern that students these days are getting from bad to worse by parading their delinquent behavior for the whole world to see".

This is the picture that the parent was referencing.

Now, some of you might not think those particular handsigns neccesitate a freakout, let alone a freakout condensed into a letter form.

Well, that's just because you aren't living in a bubble of fear.

It is important to note that the parent didn't exactly know what particular gang those signs reference.

And we don't really know either.

These are the signs that are commonly associated with gang activity in Singapore though.

We don't know which gang this is from, but it kind of looks like a variation of Fleming's Left Hand Rule.

Fleming's Left Hand Rule is one of a pair of visual mnemonics to point out the direction of motion in an electric motor, or the direction of electric current in an electric generator. You know, O Level stuff.

Which is very troubling, as this might indicate either gang association, an obsession with moving motors, or worse, a gang consisting of moving motor enthusiasts.

War is peace

The other teen flashing a "gang sign" intrigued readers even more.

Not only did he flash a completely different sign, perhaps signalling an imminent betrayal to the trio's gang, even more perplexing, the sign seemed to be a peace sign of sorts.

An irony many Twitter users recognised straight away.
