7 perfectly valid reasons why the doll ended up in Dhoby Ghaut MRT tunnel

She obviously didn't mind the platform gap.

Why did the spooky doll cross the Dhoby Ghaut MRT track?

According to Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan in Parliament on March 2, 2017, the most plausible answer is that the doll dropped through the platform gap, was picked up by a worker and got placed on the ledge.

Well, sure, that's plausible indeed. But here at Mothership.sg, where we ask the important questions, we think there is more than meets the eye. With a little digging, here are our theories on why the doll crossed the MRT track:

1. She's a hardcore trainspotter.

You know them — the otakus who take their hobbies to the next level. Well, what can be more hardcore than observing the intricate workings of rail transport up close and personal — in a tunnel?

2. She's helping to supplement the cable ties.

When plastic cable ties aren't strong enough to keep metal grips together, you need the strong hands of a doll to keep your track from falling apart.

3. She's auditioning for Annabelle.

It was clearly a success, judging from Twitter reactions:

4. She was testing our vigilance.

Good job @ashleysoo, you passed the #SGSecure test.

5. She thought the train broke down and started walking along the track.

Walking on tracks is now such an auto-response, even dolls do it.

6. She was trying to find her owner.

Life's tough when you're a toy making your way back to your owner. Just ask Lotso Bear.

7. She was making her way downtown, walking fast, faces past, and she's homebound.

A downtown MRT tunnel was just a pitstop on her "Thousand Miles" home.
