Free-roaming chickens in Singapore have been flagged by Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA). It was recently revealed that more than 20 chickens around Thomson View and Blocks 452 to 454 Sin Ming Avenue area have been put down after receiving 20 complaints from residents last year.

Yap Him Hoo, director-general of the AVA, explained that culling free-roaming chickens is a preventive measure against bird flu.

In this Year of the Rooster, may AVA cull these chickens staying close to our prime minister to keep him in robust health.
