Since December last year, full-time national servicemen (NSFs) have been able to buy army supplies from a vending machine located at White Sands Shopping Mall.
Provided by ST Logistics, the LifestyleMart Express vending machines sell items such as insect repellant, singlets, shorts, socks and ziplock bags.
The machines are currently undergoing a trial.
ST Logistics announced the installation of the machines on its Facebook page on Dec. 1, 2016:
"Sporting our corporate green is the latest initiative by ST Logistics to bring more convenience to our NSmen and soldiers! The LifestyleMart Express vending machines are located right in the heartlands at Pasir Ris, White Sands Shopping Mall, just next to the taxi stand! Have a look, take a peek!"
The company told Lianhe Zaobao that the vending machines sell items NSFs buy most often when they are out of camp during weekends.
