Kind samaritan braves spit, failed kungfu move and torrent of vulgarity to stop man from abusing StarHub staff

Good man.

Singapore is undoubtedly a stressful place, and our fast-paced environment can really get to some of us.

Take this man, for instance, whose furious fit at a StarHub store at Tiong Bahru Plaza was recorded on video and posted on Facebook —

(Disclaimer: the video contains vulgarities and rude gestures. Viewer discretion advised)

Enter Justin A. Farren, the man in a grey T-shirt who is shown attempting to mediate between the female staffer (in black) and the Angry Man.

In response to a series of rather rude and hateful comments directed against the above-mentioned Angry Man, however, Farren took to a version of the video that was published on All Singapore Stuff, not to add fuel to the fire, but in fact to speak up for the aggressor:

Here's what he said, in case the text in the screenshot is too small:

"Hi. That was me in the video (wow I look fat). It doesn't show her being pushed by the man or the very responsive security guards doing their best to deescalate the situation.

We subdued him so he couldn't leave without speaking to the police. I suspect he has some mental issues right now, so please give him some sympathy. That doesn't excuse his physical and verbal abuse though.

The police were called, he was charged and hopefully he won't do this again. It was my first true experience with racism towards me in Singapore. I have lived here almost five years and love it very much and am proud to call it home.

Things like this are rare in Singapore. Consider yourselves very lucky."

Good man. And follow-up comments lauded him accordingly:

A couple of commenters also noticed that his occupation on his Facebook profile is listed as a Creative Director at Ubisoft Singapore, a local branch of the international computer game-making company responsible for Assassin's Creed and other popular games:

Well done, Mr Farren.
