Update: The 69-year-old taxi driver is assisting police with investigations. Police said they were alerted to the incident at about 10am. Preliminary investigations have ruled out drink driving or dispute as the cause of the accident. ComfortDelGro has reached out to the owners of the cars that were affected.

A yellow CityCab taxi looked like it completely lost it in broad daylight at the car park just outside Old Airport Road Food Centre.

With fumes coming out of the bonnet and car siren blaring, the Hyundai Sonata taxi can be seen lurching forward and backward as the crowd ooh-ed and aah-ed with each crash into the car in front of and behind it before coming to a halt:

Speculation is rife that the taxi malfunctioned as a result of a mechanical fault.

According to the video post, the taxi driver is an old man who did not appear to have been injured in the incident.

Two policemen were seen at the scene shortly after.
