Video of Pioneer Road North accident shows cyclist getting hit by private bus

The cyclist could be seen lying motionless on the ground.

A woman in her 40s, believed to be a cyclist, was killed in an accident at Pioneer Road North on Thursday, Jan. 12 evening.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at 6.03pm.

The incident involved several vehicles including a private bus, a lorry and a BMW.

A video posted on Facebook shows the accident from another angle where the private bus plowed into the cyclist and oncoming traffic.

A woman could be seen lying motionless on the road.

Viewer discretion is advised:

Previous footage from another dashboard camera showed the private bus running down a tree, cutting across three lanes of the road and crashing into the fence on the divider.

The bus driver has been arrested for causing death by a negligent act.

Police investigations are ongoing.
