This cockroach giving birth will aid in your diet plan post-Chinese New Year

Yes, we have them in Singapore.

If you were too weak to resist the deluge of Chinese New Year goodies over the past weekend, this article is for you.

In a 10-minute clip, a Hissing Madagascar Cockroach is seen giving birth to dozens upon dozens of her precious babies.

Yes, giving birth. Not laying eggs. For this particular breed of cockroaches, egg-hatching occurs internally, and the delivery of offspring is filmed in its full glory. If this doesn't at least make you pause in between pineapple tarts, we don't know what else will.

Viewer discretion is advised:

Even as you cringe and squirm, there are Singaporeans who actually keep them as exotic pets. Unlike other species of cockroaches (such as the Australian cockroaches we see on a regular basis), the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach is not considered a pest.
