A night street market will be held under the West Coast Viaduct on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 7pm to 1am.

Organised by The Local People together with the Singapore Land Authority, the event will also mark the start of the short-term leasing of land under the viaduct to be used for events.

The space under the West Coast Viaduct is located diagonally opposite The Cheese Prata Shop at 18 Clementi Road.

Called the Duct Tape Party, the Jan. 21 market event will feature handmade crafts from home-grown designers, a food truck and live musical performances.

A total of 30 vendors will be present, mostly selling locally-made or designed wares.

Organisation Food from the Heart will be accepting donations of dried or canned goods from the public.

Admission is free.

Eight short films that are part of the Singapore Heritage Short Film Competition 2016 will be projected on the underside of the viaduct.

“We are constantly looking into ways to creatively adapt state land and properties for interim use," said SLA chief executive Tan Boon Khai, adding that the space has been fitted with "electricity as well as modular structures to facilitate the piloting of new concepts by social groups and entrepreneurs."
