If you haven't heard, the nine Terrexes that left Hong Kong port on the morning of the eve of Chinese New Year (Jan 27) had arrived safely back home at 2.40 pm yesterday (Jan 30).

Like concerned Singaporean parents checking whether their son or daughter had put on weight since his/her overseas studies or work trip, MINDEF announced in a press statement that "the Army started thorough post-training administration for the Terrex ICVs and other equipment" this morning.

In fact, Chief of Army Major-General (MG) Melvyn Ong was on site to observe the checks and maintenance of the vehicles and equipment.

According to MINDEF, the "detailed post-training administration" will require a few days to complete.

Ng Eng Hen: Proud of how Singaporeans rallied together

In a Facebook post yesterday (Jan 30), Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said that he was "proud of how Singaporeans rallied together during this episode" and he thanked them for their "support and encouragement".

Here's a look at one of the terrexes being unloaded from shipping carrier APL yesterday:

Terrexes returned home earlier than expected

When Ng first revealed in an earlier interview on Jan. 25 that shipping carrier APL would make "special efforts" to transport the Terrexes directly from Hong Kong back to Singapore, he was hoping that the Terrexes would be back in time for Chap Goh Mei (Hokkien dialect, refers to the 15th night of Chinese New Year or Feb 11 this year.).

It now appears that the Terrexes can celebrate the Chingay Festival on Feb. 10 and 11.

So long as "papa and mama" MINDEF have ensured that the 9 Terrexes have not lost weight during their detention in Hong Kong.
