Editor's note: This story has been updated with more information provided by the commuter and Tower Transit. According to them, both parties consider the matter settled.

There are many people in this life who owe you a living.

They are namely, the government, your fellow citizens, friends, colleagues, enemies, strangers and so on and so forth.

Add to this list are Tower Transit bus drivers.

This was after a woman commuter posted a Facebook complaint directed at Tower Transit on their page.

The woman, who is a mother, claimed the public transport operator said it was not liable for causing her daughter to get hurt while on board one of its buses, when the driver applied the emergency brake to avoid a cyclist:

This is what the woman wrote:

Dear Tower Transit, I refer to the incident which happened on 25 Nov 16. Your bus driver jammed break to avoid a cyclist causing my Daughter to hit her head. After several reminders, u finally contacted me today and informed me that you have ZERO liability in the incident as we didn't take proper care of our Daughter and reputed my medical claim. I am waiting for an official reply from u regarding your zero responsibility and liability towards this incident when the whole incident won't happen if your bus driver don't apply emergency break to avoid the cyclist.

To all commuters: buy your own insurance as any accident caused by their driver will risk u not being compensated as it is your responsibility to take care of yourself.

Tower Transit can been seen in the screenshot providing a reply.

However, the above post can no longer be found on the Tower Transit Facebook page, as it might have been removed.

And for good reason.

Responses to the woman's complaint have been varied, to say the least.

They include, but are not limited to:

- She should bubble wrap her daughter (via)

- The bus driver must run over the cyclist instead (via)

- Maybe the woman also hurt her head (via)

Update, Jan. 19, 2017:

The commuter has since contacted Mothership to inform us that the matter has been settled with Tower Transit.

A Tower Transit spokesperson said they have covered the medical bill of the woman's daughter as a gesture of goodwill.

The post by the commuter was removed from the Tower Transit Facebook page as the issue had been resolved.
