Doncha you wish your mother was sweet like her?

As survivors champions of the education system in Singapore, most of us can say that the process has been gruelling at best.

In the first episode of a mini web series directed by Martin Hong for BoBo Fish Ball and local entertainment platform Savour.love, recognise the anxiety that almost every child goes through when relaying their grades to their parents.

While his older brother Jack scored exemplary grades in all subjects, Sam came home with 60/100 for his science test.

Disheartened and worried, Sam did not say anything about his grades until Jack snatched his test paper from under the table.

Their mother, although dismayed at his grades at first, recalled the time she saw Sam working hard late into the night.

Touched by his effort, she praises him while putting a fish ball in his bowl - the best signifier of love as we Asians go.

As it is, the video has resonated with many of viewers, many of them having gone through the same experience (well, not necessary the part with the mum, but definitely the part with the grades):
