American actress Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies, suffered a heart attack aboard a United Airlines flight from London to Los Angeles, according to CNN.

Her brother, Todd Fisher, later told the Associated Press that she was "out of emergency" and had stabilized at a Los Angeles hospital. He said he could not discuss any other details about what happened.

According to celebrity news website TMZ, the heart attack happened about 15 minutes before the plane landed, with passengers attempting to revive her with CPR.

The Star Wars star and author was treated by paramedics upon landing in Los Angeles.

Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, and Fisher's beloved French bulldog, Gary, arrived at the UCLA Medical Center shortly after the actress was rushed there.
