S'pore undergrad makes wicked music video to plead for food sponsorship for final year project film crew

Effort level: Asian.

We've all heard how much making a film can cost — in Hollywood, in particular, production budgets are almost always in the millions.

For a group of struggling film students, raising the funds needed to produce a large-scale film project — like that of the university final year project film, for instance — while not coming up to nearly as much as a Hollywood or full-length feature film production, of course, is one of the toughest things to do.

And that job usually falls to the team's producer — in this case, a Nanyang Technological University (NTU) student named Wang Kai Cheng, who had a pretty creative idea to raise the funds needed:

A music video.

(Yep, that's dry ice.)

A very polished one at that, considering the fact that they're Art, Design and Media students with access to equipment, space and professional (mood) lighting.

(Yep, they're both him.)

All Wang needed was creativity in rewriting the lyrics to Wang Lee Hom's "你不知道的事" (translated: Things you don't know), some clever editing, a guitar, and his singing voice to make his plaintive plea.

Here's him strumming emotively while dollying smoothly across the frame:

He scores effort points with us, and we sincerely hope he manages to raise the money they need to buy food for their 20-something strong film crew.
