Mercedes allegedly drove against traffic causing horrific crash along AYE towards Tuas

Update, Dec. 19. 2.20pm: Video of Mercedes driving against traffic on AYE emerges. A 53-year-old male car driver has been arrested for causing death by rash act.

A horrific multiple-vehicle accident occurred on Monday morning, Dec. 19, along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) towards Tuas.

Viewer discretion is advised:

A video of the aftermath of the rush hour crash along Tuas West Road has been put online and it involved at least four cars and a motorcycle.

A Mercedes allegedly drove against the flow of traffic at high speed.

According to Channel News Asia, a man was trapped in the driver’s seat and had to be extricated by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel using hydraulic tools. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not mentioned what vehicle the deceased man was driving.

Three other people were taken to National University Hospital with unknown injuries.
