This might very well be the deal of the season.

The Straits Times, which is going to retrench a good part of its workforce, is allowing you to create personalised ads on the front page of the newspaper for a very low fee of S$100.

This is the enticing advertisement put up in ST:

This is what you get if you took it up:

Now, some of you might find that a bit pricey for what is basically a New Year's greeting.

But fear not, The Straits Times has given a very attractive comparison to justify that price.

Wow. That's like 280 times cheaper than the usual cost. Quick, get all your personalised greetings now.

Wait a minute

Obviously, that is an incredibly unfortunate comparison.

The reason why the space usually goes for S$28,000 is because the ad is being shown to their more than 400,000 readers.

So, mathematically, if your ad personalised greeting is just going out to one person, this is how much it should mathematically cost:

7 cents.

Personal

But, that's a rather cynical way of thinking, a personalised greeting is always a nice touch.

So, in that spirit, we've come up with a more cost effective way of achieving the same personalised greeting.

1. Take newspaper.

2. Write personalised greeting

3. Paste it on front page property worth S$28,000.

Tadahhhh.
