In an Instagram post on Sept. 12, 2016, AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes has announced that his airline would be giving ASEAN Paralympians free flights for life:

Thought the summer olympics was amazing. But the Paralympics has showed me what determination is all about. Once again this time led by Malaysia Asean is doing something special. Airasia will be giving Free flights for life for all Gold medals winners 5 years for silver and 3 years for bronze. Airasia was all about democracy. Thanks guys and girls for giving all of us the spirit to never give up despite all the obstacles in front of us. .

Gold medal Paralympians, such as Singapore's Yip Pin Xiu, would be eligible for free flights on AirAsia for life, while silver and bronze medalists will be getting free flights for five and two years respectively.

Previously, the Malaysian budget carrier had announced last month that it would be giving ASEAN Olympians who have won gold medals at the 2016 Olympics free travel for life on AirAsia, which includes Singapore's Joseph Schooling.

Yip Pin Xiu clinched gold in the women's S2 100m backstroke and her compatriot Theresa Goh won bronze in the women's SB4 100m breaststroke.

Well done ladies!
