A handy guide.

At various Pokestops, trainers may have picked up unhatched Pokemon Eggs that can be put in Incubators.

To hatch an Egg, you have to walk and sometimes quite a lot.

So, here's a helpful chart showing which Pokemon Eggs hatch into which Pokemon species after walking the requisite number of kilometres.

Since Pokemon Go is about hunting for more Pokemon of the same type and transferring them for Candy, this guide will give you an idea how much walking you need to do -- for the low-level Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur can only evolve when you find more of them.

However, note that hatching is gambling. There’s a chance that trainers will hatch another Rattata.

But if you hatch a Squirtle, for example, you can trade it for a Candy. And if you accumulate enough, you can evolve them.

However, you might want to hold off trading off your hatched Pokemon as they usually have better Individual Values (IV). But, that's for another story.

Most people are trying to hatch 5km and 10km Eggs as the Pokemon in those Eggs are the rarest.

But as you can see, the starters you want like Charmander are attainable by hatching 2km Eggs.

So, to get a Charizard, trainers will have to hatch those 2km Eggs, as you want to find more starter Pokemon to be traded for Candy -- if you're desperate enough.
