Originally available at their Marine Cove outlet, McDonald’s range of premium burgers - The Signature Collection - will be available at all its stores from 11 August 2016.

We check out the hype so you know which one is perfect for your tastebuds.

1. Spicy Tortilla with Angus Beef ($8.95, extra value meal at $10.95)

Now this one requires some work – c’mon, just look at this beast.

And to create this beast like they mean it, this evolved burger comes with three sauces: guacamole, jalapeno relish and some secret super tangy one. In Pokemon terms, this is a Charizard, while other burgs remain a Charmander.

In common, everyday-speak, this is damn hot and shiok ah.

As we chowed down the Spicy Tortilla Angus Beef for the very first time, it brought back great memories of the good ol’ burgers of yesteryear. You know, the ones that give you food coma.

Ah happier days. Just us, the crush and the burger.

We digress.

For fear of being Captain Obvious, we’d like to give a shout out to its distinct texture than the spiciness.

This baby packs a significant punch - it’s crunchy (got tomatoes and tortillas!), it’s tingly (shiok), it’s juicy (prepare to get messy), it’s pass-me-the-serviette good.

Time to put on your big boy pants, level up and dig into that marvellous Angus beef marbling and taste the difference.

Verdict: So good it might bring tears to your eyes. Or it could be the spiciness kicking in.

2. Classic Cheese with Angus Beef ($8.95, extra value meal at $10.95)

A classier name than basic, the Classic Cheese is the staple burger we don’t always realise we need.

But it isn’t as basic or plain as we thought it’d be.

The Classic Cheese is what you get when you can upgrade every single ingredient and crank it to eleven. While it doesn’t look va-va-voom, especially beside the Spicy Tortilla, but hey, who cares about whether it’s Instagrammable when you have Angus beef plus chicken bacon (double whammy meat lovers) and caramelised grilled onions?

Ok we take back the part where we say looks don’t matter. The more we chomped down on this classic, the more we can taste its inner beauty.

It’s sweet and it’s savoury - thanks to the chicken bacon (we think bacon goes with everything, especially Angus beef) packed it between a tomato and two slices of Colby cheese and lots of onions.

The pickle? None at all. And there’s the jalapeno relish and garlic aioli sauce to round up the taste.

Verdict: The only thing basic is its looks.

3. Spicy Chicken with Apple Slaw ($6.95, extra value meal at $8.95)

If we have our way, we’d name this the Hiam Burger. Because this Spicy Chicken with Apple Slaw is THAT HOT.

Pepper. More pepper. Peppery rocket leaves with black pepper mayo. Uber-spicy and crispy chicken thigh.

We ain’t kidding with this fiery concoction.

To douse those flames, an apple slaw appears like the younger brother during a hot date to keep the temperatures down. Probably the only time we are thankful for our younger bro for being the light bulb.

We’ve found another way to cool the tongue from too much spicy food other than milk and sugar - apple slaw!

With so much apple slaw slathered across, you can safely finish the burger without downing your daily eight glasses of water at one go.

We thought it would taste quite chapalang with the sweet apple combined with the rocket leaves and cheese but the crunchiness is a good complement to the crispy chicken. Also we thought rocket leaves were found exclusively on pizzas but guess we’re wrong (or suaku).

Verdict: We got no beef with this hot stuff.

The McDonald’s Signature Collection burgers will be available from 11 August 2016 at all McDonald’s outlets so everyone can enjoy these premium burgers without paying big premiums. #MTL.
