Billionaire Peter Lim, owner of Spain’s Valencia football team, proves that he is still a true blue Singaporean after all.

How? By making a police report because he is probably unhappy with online claims that have the potential to damage his reputation.

His firm, Kestrel Capital, issued the following statement on Monday (Aug 29):

Various reports have been circulating online, falsely claiming and linking prominent Singaporean investor Mr Peter Lim to certain investment methods.

Mr Lim categorically denies that he has anything to do with the claims made in these reports. He is concerned and alarmed that his name is and continues to be used by parties with possible ill intentions to mislead unsuspecting members of the public, so he has lodged a police report.

There is also a public service announcement component to the statement:

Members of the public are strongly advised to protect themselves against these false and misleading claims to avoid becoming potential victims of get-rich-quick scams.

Netizens should also refrain from circulating and reposting these false claims.
