Viking clap, one last time.

The Iceland football team received a hero’s welcome when they returned back home Monday following their giant-slaying performance at Euro 2016.

The Nordic island comprising 323,000 people, knocked out England in the round of 16 and made it all the way to the quarter-finals, only to be beaten 5-2 by tournament hosts France on Sunday.

The Icelandic team had beaten Austria and, in qualifying, the Netherlands, Turkey, and the Czech Republic on their way to the last eight.

No wonder their people are so proud of them:

Tens of thousands of Icelanders gathered in the capital Reykjavík to welcome home the nation's footballers, which comprises a part-time filmmaker and itinerant farmers.

It was said that 10 percent of the Icelandic population went to France to support their team at Euro 2016.

Not that that is hard to believe.

Back home for their hero's welcome, cheering crowds lined the streets of Reykjavik, as the team made their way through on an open-top bus.

Thousands more then gathered in front of a stage to meet and greet the team where they did their now-famous Viking clap one last time.

For now.
