Everybody's favourite football team Leicester City are the 2015/16 Barclays Premier League champions with two games to play.

This after title challengers Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 at Chelsea, which means it can no longer overtake the Foxes (77 points) even if Spurs win their remaining two games.

As that match drew to a close, Leicester players celebrated in the living room of leading scorer Jamie Vardy.

This historic victory makes them champions for the first time in their 132-year history.

With this title win, Leicester City, which started the season with a one-in-5,000-chance of lifting the trophy, has written one of the greatest miracle stories in footballing, or even, sporting history.

Their miracle run can be traced back to last 2014/15 season, where they first returned to the Premier League having spent 10 years playing outside of the top flight.

Initially, their re-introduction to top flight football started promisingly enough. But after months of terrible results, the Foxes were getting culled and sat rock bottom with only nine matches left to play.

Incredibly, Leicester managed to avoid relegation by winning seven of their last nine matches to secure what was one of the most miraculous escapes in Premier League history, finishing the season safely in 14th place.

At the start of the this 2015/16 season, they were the only team to go undefeated in their first six matches.

The Foxes then remained at the top of the table as early as Jan. 23, where they completed victory after victory to pull away from title favourites Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Moreover, Leicester’s starting line-up cost a grand total of £22.5 million.

In comparison, last summer, Manchester City brought in Raheem Sterling for a reported £49 million.

In the course of this season's victories, Leicester's Italian manager Claudio Ranieri got his revenge over former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho.

Twelve years ago, Mourinho, the glamorous manager, was brought in to replace the unfashionable Ranieri at Chelsea.

Leicester's victory over Chelsea on Dec. 14, 2015, was the final straw in a uncharacteristic dreadful season for defending champions Chelsea.

That win got Mourinho fired from his second stint at the club that had catapulted him to superstardom.

But Chelsea and its 2014/15 player of the year Eden Hazard had the last say, as he scored only his third goal of the season to help another Premier League team win the title.
