Check out how Joseph Schooling smashed the previous 200-yard butterfly NCAA record out of the water

What a beast.

Singapore swim sensation Joseph Schooling shaved almost two seconds off the previous NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) 200-yard butterfly record.

Schooling, who is representing the University of Texas, struck gold with a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious swim at 1min 37.97 sec yesterday at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

The previous record of 1:39.33 was set in 2014 Dylan Bosch.

What made his swim all the more impressive was that eventual second-place Jack Conger – also Schooling's schoolmate - was leading for the first 150 yards.

The last 50 yards lap (editor's note: a reader pointed out that the NCAA is a short course competition, so it should be 25 yards) saw Schooling (in lane 3) doing this:

Cue epic celebration that we've seen so often during last year's SEA Games.
