To say that 2015 was resident Mediacorp Uncle Chen Tianwen's breakout year is probably a huge understatement.

Before that he was just a bit part actor in the shadows of more established actors like Chew Chor Meng.

And then this happened:

"Stunned like vegetable" became a cultural milestone.

The sudden fame then resulted in, yes, a movie late last year. He's the lead actor by the way.

The 53-year-old said: “To be this old before I land a lead role, or, I should say, I’m this old and yet I still have the opportunity, I’m excited.”

One year on, there's no stopping the Uncle With the Moves. Because too much of a good thing is still a good thing.

A trailer for a new Channel 8 variety show about growing old gracefully proves that he has yet again successfully upgraded his status in Mediacorp.

Plus, the Uncle With the Moves has more screen time than Chew Chor Meng.

It features Chen in his now signature tight shirt/flare pants get up, complete with an afro.
