Birthday boy PM Lee will spend his 64th birthday working

He will make a working visit to the United States from Feb. 10 to 16.

It is Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's 64th birthday today, Feb. 10.

But he is not taking a break. PM Lee will make a working visit to the United States from his birthday to Feb. 16, according to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office.

This is probably the reason why everyone celebrated his birthday in advance.

The Special ASEAN-US Leaders Summit in Sunnylands, California, that PM Lee will be attending from Feb. 15 to 16 will see US President Barack Obama act as host for other ASEAN Leaders to discuss ASEAN-US economic and political-security cooperation.

PM Lee will also meet with the Governor of California and business leaders from prominent technology companies from Feb. 10 to 15.

PM Lee will also meet Singaporeans residing in the San Francisco Bay Area and host a dialogue with Singaporean technology professionals based there.

He will be accompanied by his wife, Ho Ching, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, and senior government officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Economic Development Board, the National Research Foundation and the Infocomm Development Authority.
