TL;DR: Now that the government will own all of Singapore's buses, they want to paint them all the same colour, so it will be more difficult for us to see from far which service it is (because you can always see the SMRT bus you're waiting for among all the SBS Transit ones and spring up quickly enough to flag it down).

You can also see what their double-decker buses will look like from both sides. More importantly, though, this choice reminds us, oddly enough, of the choices our forefathers had in 1962: Merger Choices merger Yes, red bus or green bus. A choice that will impact #TheFutureOfUs. Vote wisely.
