2016 is looking to be a bonanza year for action movies with several highly-anticipated blockbusters coming out: Suicide Squad, Deadpool, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War.
With a population of around 5 million, the cinema attendance in Singapore in 2014 -- according to the Media Development Authority -- was 21.5 million, which raked in an estimated $204 million in ticket sales based on major commercial theatres.
With rampant streaming services available for free online, it remains to be seen if ticket sales in 2015 can be better than 2014 numbers, even as the cinematic experience holds promise of wooing the crowds back with its superior audio-visual quality and darkened theatres.
Regardless, here are 33 movies you can look forward to in 2016, although not all are confirmed releases by next year:
